As of 1 April, Yvonne Mkefa, Director, Employment Law practice, and Lebohang Mabidikane, Director, Competition Law joined the CDH ranks, bringing with them a wealth of experience and expertise in their respective legal fields.

Yvonne Mkefa returns to CDH as a Director in the Employment Law practice in the Cape Town office. With over two decades of experience, she has a deep understanding of employment law and has played pivotal roles in various organisations, contributing to business strategy while ensuring compliance. Yvonne has over 20 years of experience working with employment law at the highest level, six of which were in niche law practicing firms specialising in employment law.
Yvonne Mkefa Director in the Employment Law Practice
In 2010 Yvonne moved in-house to take up employee relations and legal roles in employment relations functions and worked for companies in the energy, aviation and financial services. Her knowledge of labour law and the labour context in South Africa, from both a client and law firm perspective, is significant and will benefit our clients enormoulsy.
Yvonne has significant experience in assessing risk and ensuring compliance regarding the protection and processing of information as well as employment and labour. She has also led negotiations relating to labour relations and employment matters and managed litigious matters both locally and internationally.
Lebohang Mabidikane joins CDH as a Director in the Competition Law practice in Johannesburg. With 16 years of experience, she has a strong reputation for her expertise in merger evaluations, cartel investigations, and competition law enforcement. Lebohang also served as a member of the Competition Commission’s executive committee, as well as previously serving as the Head of the Commission’s Cartels division.
Lebohang has extensive experience in evaluating the competitive and public interest effects of mergers, conducting investigations of cartel and abuse of dominance conduct, assessing exemption applications, and leading search and seizure operations. She has also provided training and commentary to other African competition regulators and offered input on the legislative framework for, and enforcement of, competition law in several other African jurisdictions.
Lebohang Madibikane Director in competition law practice
Lebohang possesses a deep understanding of a broad range of sectors, including agriculture, aviation, healthcare, logistics, petroleum, mining, fast-moving consumer goods, banking, and retail. Lebohang has handled several complex and high-profile matters for clients in both South Africa and other African jurisdictions. Additionally, she has experience in public and municipal financial management and has advised various South African state-owned entities, as well as litigated on behalf of municipalities.
With these two new additions to the firm’s South African offices, Williams believes the firm remains committed to a depth of skills and experience that supports the day-to-day business needs and long-term strategies of clients across industries and borders.
