Entries open for retirement sector awards

Institute of Retirement Funds Africa opens entry portal for its awards programme

Funds within the local sector can now submit entries online for IRFA’s revamped and prestigious Lwela Ukwenza Kahle awards. Translated from isiZulu as “Strive to do Good” the awards recognise practices and programmes which achieve optimum benefits for members of retirement funds.

The awards programme, which has attracted entries from the sector for over three decades, has evolved considerably and recognises excellence and best practices in stakeholder engagement, transformation, trustee development, financial management and reporting, governance and investment practice.

Programme judges are drawn from subject matter experts, academia, the Regulator and associated bodies and entrants can be sure of a thorough evaluation and excellent feedback on their efforts.

Entries are currently open and close on the 13th July 2022, allowing entrants good time to prepare. Good news is that IRFA is offering an early bird discount for funds entering the programme before the 20th May.

IRFA Executive Officer Wayne Hiller van Rensburg encourages retirement funds across the sector to participate in the programme. “It is the programme, process or strategy our judges evaluate, not the size of the operational budget” he emphasises, “there will be no distinction between classes and types of funds.”
