Strategic partnership with Degreed to offer a seamless on-line integrated learning portal and experience
Sandton, 9 November 2017 – Alexander Forbes has launched a new innovative business called Alexander Forbes Empower with a mission to empower customers to achieve better outcomes, through developing a lifelong relationship with education and learning.
In partnership with Degreed, a San Francisco, US based organisation, Alexander Forbes introduces a new on-line learning portal that provides access to educational and skills content for both employers and employees.
“We are bringing a best-in-class lifelong learning platform to our pan-African client base to deliver human capital and financial education programmes through a single source,” says Andrew Darfoor, Alexander Forbes Group Chief Executive.
He says Alexander Forbes Empower has been created to empower employees reach their full potential through a continuous learning and skills development approach, as part of an integrated approach to achieving lifetime financial well-being.
Darfoor says the partnership with Degreed will enable Alexander Forbes Empower to integrate an organisation’s internal learning systems and partner this content with the world's largest ecosystem of open learning resources, creating a unique and personalised learning experience.
“In partnering with Degreed, we are able to bring to our customers a rich content of courses, videos, articles, books, podcasts from multiple sources. As a result, organisations and their people can discover, curate, share and track all their learning and development, wherever they learn, on a single online portal” says Darfoor.
“With the advent of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, the impact of technological, demographic and socio-economic disruptions on businesses are being more acutely felt with significant change occurring across the employment landscape impacting skills requirements. Alexander Forbes believes that it is now more important than ever before, for both employers and employees to stay relevant in a rapidly changing world. This can only be achieved by continuous learning, up-skilling and taking advantage of opportunities to improve skills through access to lifelong learning,” says Darfoor.
David Blake, CEO of Degreed, says the partnership with Alexander Forbes will provide organisations in South Africa and across Africa a unified learning experience to drive skills building and professional development with a special emphasis on financial well-being.
“This is a momentous event for Degreed as we partner with one of the most innovative companies in Africa, Alexander Forbes, and break into a market ripe for personal skills development and ongoing learning,” said Blake.
“Alexander Forbes’ vision to better the people and companies of Africa through learning perfectly aligns with the mission and purpose of Degreed. We’re excited to create the next generation of experts in Africa,” says Blake.
