FSB warns the public against Olivier and Mann Inc

The Financial Services Board (FSB) warns the public to act with caution when dealing with a company using the name Olivier and Mann Inc. The entity is not authorised in terms of the Financial Advisory and Intermediary Services Act, 2002 (“FAIS Act”) to render any financial advice and intermediary services.

Olivier and Mann Inc is not authorised to render financial services in South Africa.

The FSB again reminds consumers who wish to conduct financial services with an institution or person to first  check their legitimacy by contacting the FSB on either the toll free number (0800 110 443) or on the website www.fsb.co.za. as to whether or not such institution or person is authorised to render financial services.

FSB warns the public against Ms Gina Nel

The Financial Services Board (FSB) warns the public to act with caution when dealing with Ms Gina Nel (“Ms Nel”) purporting to be affiliated with Direct Axis SA (Pty) Ltd, FSP 5 and FSP 7249.

The FSB has received information that Ms Nel purports to represent Direct Axis SA (Pty) Ltd and communicates via email offering loans to consumers.  Direct Axis SA (Pty) Ltd confirmed that Ms Nel is not currently, nor has she ever been a representative of the entity.

Ms Nel is not a representative or key individual of any authorised financial services provider and is not authorised to render financial services.

The FSB again reminds consumers who wish to conduct financial services with an institution or person to check beforehand with the FSB on either the toll free number (0800 110 443) or on the website www.fsb.co.za as to whether or not such institution or person is authorised to render financial services.

FSB warns the public against “Financial Services Authority” and Mrs Sadia Akbar

The Financial Services Board (FSB) warns the public to act with caution when receiving e-mail communication alleging to be from the “Financial Services Authority” with Mrs Sadia Akbar indicated as the contact person.

An e-mail circulating, purporting to be from the “Financial Services Authority”, offers South African citizens access to funds from the United Nations.  This correspondence is fraudulent and does not originate from the Financial Services Board.  Ms Sadia Akbar is in no way affiliated with the Financial Services Board.

There is currently no entity called the “Financial Services Authority” in existence in South Africa.

The FSB again reminds consumers who wish to conduct financial services with an institution or person to check beforehand with the FSB on either the toll free number (0800 110 443) or on the website www.fsb.co.za as to whether or not such institution or person is authorised to render financial services.
