Thandie Mashego to join Eskom Pension and Provident Fund as CFO

Thandie Mashego has been appointed as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) by the Eskom Pension and Provident Fund (EPPF) from 1 February 2022.

Mashego will join the EPPF Executive team, bringing with her a wealth of experience as a Finance Executive.

Thandie is a qualified Chartered Accountant with 23 years of experience in Finance and Investment management. She joins the Fund from WDB Investment Holdings where she has served as CFO since June 2016. She previously served as CFO of Vantage Capital Group between June 2014 and May 2016. Prior to her tenure with Vantage Capital Group, she held various roles at the Industrial Development Corporation (IDC) from May 2003 to May 2014.

Thandie holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree and a Bachelor of Commerce Honours in Accounting, both obtained from the University of Natal and a Master’s degree in Business Leadership obtained from the University of South Africa. Further to that, she has completed a Leadership Development Programme with the Da Vinci Institute of Technology. She has served on various Boards of Directors, throughout her career.

Shafeeq Abrahams, Chief Executive and Principal Officer of the EPPF says, “I am confident that the experience that Thandie brings to the EPPF will assist us in achieving our business objectives. The Fund, which has over 80,000 members and approximately R180 billion of Assets Under Management, plans to grow its assets through increased exposure to private equity and other asset classes. This growing interest in other asset classes is part of a strategy to continue its diversification while boosting risk-adjusted returns for members and making a positive social impact.
