Working Capital Facility to Encourage and Support Growth of Gender Diverse Fund Managers
19 Dec, 2023

Marde van Wyk, Private Markets Principal – 27four Investment Managers

27four’s fundHERforward programme will assist women led fund managers to form and sustain successful private markets funds and businesses, through the provision of working capital and deal warehousing ahead of fund closes. The programme is a blended finance partnership between 27four and USAID Southern Africa Mobilizing Investment, dedicated to advancing diversity, equity and inclusion within South African private markets.

fundHERforward is designed to address the specific challenges faced by women in establishing private markets fund managers, by providing essential operational working capital support during the fundraising phase and capital to enable deal pipeline execution. This support is further enhanced by ancillary mentorship and assistance. “We firmly believe that this support will empower first-time managers to channel their energies into building their deal pipeline and securing funding, thereby relieving them of the financial pressures that often impede progress”, says Marde van Wyk, Private Markets Principal at 27four Investment Managers.
