Mike Adsetts, Chief Investment Officer (CIO)

Pretoria, 1 July 2023 – Momentum Investment Management has been on a journey for the last couple of months to appoint a Chief Investment Officer (CIO). We are proud to confirm that Mike Adsetts will take on the role of CIO from 1 July. Mike, who has been acting in this role over the last seven months, has 21 years’ experience in the investment industry and a proven track record as our Deputy CIO over the last six years. We are confident that Mike will add tremendous value as the CIO in setting the investment strategy for our business and also as a member of our Investment Management executive team.

We are further pleased to announce that Frank Sibiya, a seasoned investment professional with 14 years of experience, will be joining us on 3 July 2023 in our Corporate Portfolio Solutions environment, further bolstering our team.

Our Retail Portfolio Solutions team has also been strengthened further by the appointment of Nothando Marasha as an investment analyst. Nothando joins us from Stanlib and has four years of experience in the investment industry. Nothando will work with Taruvona Mashamhanda to ensure that we optimise our Africa portfolios.

Transformation remains a strategic imperative for our business, and Mike and the rest of the executive team will ensure that we develop clear strategies to increase our representation of EE candidates within our Middle and Senior Management levels while relying on youth development initiatives to support junior talent within our business.

We would like to wish Mike, Frank and Nothando well in their new roles and we look forward to walking a long and fruitful journey with them.
