Press release: Gary Mockler, Chief Executive Officer at GTC
Leading financial service provider GTC has won the 2024 EBnet Evolutionary Award for “Evolutions in Improving Member Outcomes” at their annual technology conference in November 2024.
The award winners were chosen by way of ideas, processes and/or technologies that have led to better outcomes for financial industry stakeholders. Voting by conference attendees on a people’s-choice voting system saw GTC participating in a competitive group which included many financial service industry leaders.
EBnet is a leading knowledge portal for the retirement industry, making these awards to celebrate innovation in pensions, healthcare, and financial planning.
GTC, South Africa’s sixth-largest commercial umbrella retirement fund administrator, won the award for their creation of Altertude – an automated, exponential member-engagement portal. This digital platform capable of processing some 100 000 members concurrently, offers automated financial data integration with various specific interfaces such as the detailed Pre-advice Life Report (combining some 14 personalised financial metrics into a singular consolidated view), together with TrueNorth – an actuarially driven, automated, financial advisory interface, as well as payroll integrator, allowing for disparate data bases to be consolidated. The core function of retirement fund administration too, is an integral component of Altertude.
Gary Mockler, Group Chief Executive Officer at GTC, says “I am exceptionally proud of this award and the recognition of GTC’s innovation. As financial advisors ourselves, we know first-hand what is required from a financial-technology platform and we have been able to build this proprietary software which is holistic, inexpensive, and product-agnostic. We know how well it works, using it every day to meet our clients’ advisory needs. That GTC has now received industry acknowledgement is gratifying and validates our team’s hard work and innovation.”
GTC has consistently been recognised within the industry as conducting best practice, having won the PMR.africa Diamond Arrow Award of Excellence for seven consecutive years, regularly receiving the highest rating in their category.
David Weil, CEO of Ebnet noted” The independent and arms-length EBnet award recognises GTC’s achievements in improving retirement outcomes with innovative, client-focused solutions. Well done to them”.
