The Evolutionary Awards are a series of awards designed to recognise those service providers in the retirement and investments industry who are innovating and changing to better serve the beneficiaries of retirement funds in South Africa. Uniquely, the awards are voted on by the industry participants themselves by way of a people’s choice voting process.
“To evolve is to change or develop into a better, more advanced state”, says David Weil, CEO of EBnet. “Each innovation building on the previous to create continuous improvement and better outcomes. We have seen so much change in the industry recently and believe it is important to showcase the innovative and creative thinking, technology and processes that have been designed to meet the challenges presented by these changes. Recognising and celebrating the latest advances ignites the imagination of the industry on what is possible.”
“And it’s not about budgets and money spent,” says Nathalie Burrows, the site’s Editor, “the awards are open to all. We profiled some great tech and thinking from smaller players that are easily scalable.
The awards were well supported with 28 entries making it into the voting stage, and over 1000 votes cast by the 772 delegates who attended the conference. Each delegate was allowed one vote per category.”
The votes were counted and independently audited by BDO.
