South Africa’s retirement sector is well positioned to contribute significantly to socio-economic reconstruction and growth as the country moves forward. As the leading industry association the Institute of Retirement Funds Africa recognises this and acts as both a catalyst and co-ordinator in determining and recognizing best practices in the sector which contribute to financial security, development and sustainability.

One of the ways it achieves this is through its annual Best Practices Industry Awards programme where recognition is given to industry leaders in governance, stakeholder engagement, investment practices, trustee development, financial management and reporting and transformation. An award is also presented to funds and service providers who excel in all of the categories. These practices are highlighted and shared within the sector and in its 35th year the programme is acknowledged throughout the sector.

This year’s gala award ceremony was held online on the 22nd July.
