Motswedi’s recently launched innovative and first of its kind, Enterprise Development (ESD) Programme is officially up and running. It was developed with the aim of igniting the growth of black asset managers in South Africa. Motswedi has welcomed its first cohort of asset managers which will be participating in the Programme. Driven by its higher purpose to transform the landscape of the local asset management industry, Motswedi believes they have found a solution to the prevailing problem question…
How might we meaningfully increase the representation of organically grown black asset managers in the SA asset management industry?
Motswedi’s solution to this problem is the introduction of this game changing initiative called the Motswedi ESD Programme, which aims to directs enterprise and supplier development funding from the financial services industry to qualifying black asset managers. This programme will inject operating capital into deserving black asset management businesses to ignite growth and ultimately advance them into the mainstream of asset management.
Built on the solid foundation of Motswedi’s asset manager research database and a sound understanding of the B-BBEE legislation and requirements, the Motswedi ESD programme, not only aims to increase the percentage of representation of black asset manages in the asset management industry, but also assist in equipping them to compete shoulder to shoulder with the traditional large asset managers.
Managed through a robust governance structure the Motswedi ESD Programme is spear headed by Ms. Neo Molamu. Neo comes with a wealth of experience in debt structuring, project funding, research, and data analysis as well as financial modelling in capital markets.
